Little Miss Scatterbrain

I have had my garbage bin sitting out at the end of the driveway for two days now.  Let me explain why.

I have not being doing well in the mornings lately.  I've been having some sleep inertia issues.  It takes me a long time to get my wits about me in the mornings.  It really takes about three hours.  Anyway, Wednesday morning I somehow thought it was Thursday morning (my garbage pick-day).  I thought I had forgotten to bring the garbage to the street and so I did it before I sped off to work.  Before I even arrived at work I realized my stupidity.

Then Wednesday night, when I usually take the garbage out, I was all excited that the chore was already done.  Yay!

Then when I came home from work tonight I noticed it had not been picked up.  That's when it hit me.  Memorial Day was Monday.  My garbage company considers that one of their few holiday days and therefore my pick-up would be delayed one day.  So my garbage is currenly still sitting on the curb.

And that is my Little Miss Scatterbrain story of the week.  Share one of yours in the comments!

UPDATE!  I just tried to take money out of an ATM with my credit card.  I sure am on a roll this week.

We did the same thing (forgetting about Memorial Day). But we don't feel bad, because most of the rest of our neighborhood did the same thing. Hopefully the birds didn't poke holes in the bags and drag all our garbage down the street. Haven't checked yet.

I like the phrase "sleep inertia". I think that's a good phrase for how my husband is.

As for scatterbrained-ness, I often pick up and try to drink my stapler instead of my coffee at work in the morning. *palmhead*

Kathy, i am glad i am not the only one that 'forgot' about the holiday. I still can't believe i messed up not once, but twice!

Candice, i love the phrase too. I just learned of it yesterday. My stapler is up on a shelf so i dont get that mixed up, but i have tried to use my cell phone as a mouse before. Ha.
