I Bought a Puffer Vest

| 5 Comments | No TrackBacks

A while back I was shopping at kohls (a recent addition to the favorite stores list) and came across a black vest.  I tried it on, it fit, and I carried it around with me for a while as I continued shopping.  I ultimately decided to put it back.  I remembered I had an older vest at home that I never really wore so why would I need 2 of them?  I pulled it out of the closet about a week ago and threw it in the wash.  This morning I found a shirt I wanted to wear and thought the vest would go well with it.  I tried on the vest and found it to be entirely too large (I wore it anyway).  The reason it was too big is a combination that I used to be about 20-25 lbs heavier than I am now and I also wore everything way too big back when I bought it.

I took a break at work this morning and decided to order the vest online.  It was super on sale and I found a 10% coupon code.  I bought the one pictured below, but in black.  Now I am thinking the white looks nice.  Ha.

I am looking for your opinion.  Yes or no on puffer vests?  Should I keep it and wear it, or will I be committing fashion suicide if I wear it and return it immediately?  Do you have any fashion guilty pleasures?

I've never followed fashion trends so I might not be the best to offer advice here but I say if you like it keep it. Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks but you anyway. Also vests are really comfy in the fall with hoodies and jeans.

My only fashion guilty pleasures are sweatpants and pink fuzzy slippers....which I have yet to wear to the grocery store. Perhaps I'll do that today!

First, Kohl's rocks.
Second, Keep the vest...I would like the black too. White is nice, but I would prefer the black to go with my colorful long sleeve shirts, etc.

Like Christina, I don't follow fashion trends either. If it makes me feel good and is comfortable, I'm wearing it! :)

I totally say keep it. I LOVE puffer vests. I had a black one but it's like 4 sizes too small right now so I've been debating getting a new one. They're really useful and versatile and great for layering when it gets super cold.

The vest is a keeper, especially in white! :) Trends or no trends, they seem to be 'in' every winter when it comes time for layering, and they always look fantastic when I see them on other people. Now I want to get one...

You ladies are all so lovely. Thank you for humoring me and giving me feedback.

Christina and NatureCat, you both made an awesome point that it shouldn't particularly matter about the trends and what other people will think.

Candice, you should totally order one! Tabitha, you too!

The last few days have been PERFECT puffer vest weather but mine has not arrived yet! I also went back to kohls.com to buy the white one but it was no longer available :( The black one has been shipped and should arrive in the next few days! I think I am more excited than I should be. Ha.
