I finally (FINALLY!) started to see the scale move in the right direction. Also have thus far resisted opening the girl scout cookies that were delivered on Sunday. I bought a box of the new (I think) Dulce de Leche ones. Anyone had them yet? What's the verdict?
We bought two new games for the wii: wii sports resort (boyfriend's choice) and sim city creator (my choice). Guess which one has kept us both up til the wii (ha) hours of the night?
I decided to try this new Airborne stuff I've heard about a few different times to help fight all the gerrrrms at work. What's your thought, does it work?
I took an actual honest to goodness lunch break. That hasn't happened in... I don't remember how long. (Yes I do. It was September 28th for my birthday lunch.)
I ran again for the first time since October 26th. I thought it was gonna suck. It didn't. It seems the rest did my slight ankle injury good and I ran at almost the same speed as before the break.

I gave you a Lovely Blog Award!

Dulce de leche????
Oh, man, where's a Girl Scout! I need those cookies!
I have used Airborne off and on -- probably not regularly enough to tell if it works or not, but a friend swears by it. She takes it religiously and hasn't had a cold in five years.
It can't hurt!
Thank you, Danielle. I am flattered :)
JD: I have yet to dig into the cookies so I can't tell you how they are yet, but I'll be sure to let you know. I am going to treat myself to a couple once I hit the '10 pounds lost' mark (assuming I can resist that long, about 4 more to go). Next year I will order and send you a box!
I've been using Airborne for years now at the very onset of a sore throat or cold and was always in favor of it because what's the harm in getting extra vitamin C and other other vitamins, right?
Well, there's been much in the press about Airborne in the last couple of years, specifically around charges brought by the FTC against Airborne for false advertising and making unproven claims. Some of the other negatives I've read about Airborne:
1. it hasn't been tested by the FDA (because it's sold as a dietary supplement and not a drug)
2. it's very easy to overdose on vitamin C with Airborne, and large quantities of vitamin C have been linked to kidney damage - one Airborne tablet contains 1600% of your recommended daily value (and according to Airborne instructions, you can take up to 3/day)
3. it contains Aspertame, which is a chemical additive
I'm certainly not the expert on it, but your question got me thinking and doing some online research and this is what I discovered! It's enough to make me second guess how much I use Airborne...
Tabitha, I did some reasearch too after I posted and found the same things you did. I also read something about too much vitamin A having negative effects/being harmful. I wasn't too concerned but I don't think I'll be taking it regularly. Only when those around me are sick or when I first feel something coming on. I think the best thing to do is make sure I get enough rest, exercise, and eat well to help boost my immune system.
Here's to hoping we stay healthly during this cold and flu season!
