I wanted to put together a short list of items/recommendations for Christmas gifts for thirty-something sisters, brothers, or significant others. If you have any other ideas/suggestions of things you have given or recieved that were huge hits, please append the list in the comments :)
Disclaimer: All but the first two links are amazon affiliate links.
1. Women's Montana Glove: I want these for when I have to go out in the brutal cold and brush of the car or shovel the driveway.
2. Power Stretch® Glove: My sister bought me these for my birthday and I really love them for day-to-day cold-weather wear.
3. Vera Bradley Libby (New Prints): My 3 sisters, my mother, and I all love these purses.
4. Sweet Dreams Contoured Sleep Mask with Earplugs and Travel Pouch - Black: I just bought this for my sister. Sleep masks are awesome and this one got a lot of good reviews on amazon. This would go along well with the next item...
5. Marpac SleepMate 980A Electro-Mechanical Sound Conditioner: I also bought this for the same sister just mentioned above. She currently uses a fan or humidifier or some other thing that makes loud noise to help her sleep.
6. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn: I read two books by Betty Smith this year and loved both of them. The first one, and probably my favorite, was A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. The other was called Joy in the Morning and I highly recommend both.
7. Wii Sports Resort: My boyfriend and I bought this a month or so ago and have played it quite a bit. You can play alone, with one other person, or with a group of people. It contains I love the fencing (sword play) and the archery :)
8. Victorinox Swiss Army Sportsman II Knife with AA LED Flashlight: I went out on a limb a little bit and just bought this for my boyfriend. It seemed practical and useful and he's mentioned wanting one in the past, but probably not something he'd buy for himself.
9. Blade mCX S300 RTF: I wanted to surprise my boyfriend with something fun this Christmas and this is what I came up with. I talked with a friend who loves these and has 3 of them, and this is one of the ones he recommended.

Thank you for useful information.
Another great collection! You really have a knack for choosing useful but a bit off-the-beaten-track gift ideas. GLOVES! I need gloves. And so does my brother's girlfriend. And a sound machine is a great idea for my brother, as long as he doesn't have one already. I'll never forget the year I got him THE perfect X-mas gift: a set of iPod speakers. Unfortunately, I found out he had already gotten himself some speakers. Who shops for themselves 2 weeks before Christmas??? Oh, well. At least I found out in time to get him something else.
JD: I am VERY glad you like the two lists. I was very nervous about posting these, afraid people were going to think they were bad/stupid ideas! So thank you very much for the feedback.
I am actually often very tempted to buy myself stuff in the few weeks before Christmas while I am out shopping for everyone else! I am usually pretty good about restraining though, by telling myself if I don't get it for Christmas I can always go out shopping after the first of new year.
