I am eager with anticipation for Spring to be in full gear. Like, really eager. We have been teased (blessed?) by mother nature the last few weeks with unusually warm weather (50s and 60s!) and, uncharacteristically, no snow. Her last hooray may have been the foot and a half we got the last week of February.
Now the early spring plants, like tulips and daffodils, have gotten a very early start and they are getting me excited (yes, I know how dorky that sounds/is). Even though they aren't really much to look at yet in terms of beauty, I took pictures anyway. And I want to subject you to them (sorry).

Most people tend to dislike yardwork. It does have the word 'work' in it, afterall. I, however, really enjoy it most of the time. I am eager to get outside into the sunshine. I am eager to make my yard look prettier. I enjoy the satisfaction, both physical and mental, I get from it. I am in my element when it is springtime.
Do you enjoy doing yardwork or is it just a necessary evil?
I love it. Not necessarily mowing, but gardening is fun. It's an excuse to dig around in the dirt. I love the smell of fresh soil. Plus looking at flowers makes me feel peaceful. Spring is a happy time.
I love it if it's my choice to do it, but if it's a chore that has been hounding me - no way. I do however love to be outside. I think we are getting our last hurray before summer this week. (crossing my fingers)
NatureCat -- I actually don't really even mind the mowing all that much. Sometimes it can be really relaxing, and a nice little bit of exercise. I just don't like it when I'm really tired or it's really, really hot in the dead of summer. What kind of flowers/landscaping do you have?
Hi Heidi -- I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. :) What kinds of things do you like to do outdoors?
I love it too, and love your pics! Us Canucks aren't quite so fortunate, we ALWAYS have a big dump of snow in April, (and often on May long weekend, too) so while I'd like to be as optimistic (and productive!) as you, I'm trying to head my realistic hat on... ;)
marisa, our weather has been crazy this year. not one flake of snow in all of march. i don't recall that ever happening before. while i wouldn't say we normally get a storm in april, it definitely has been known to happen.
i planted those bulbs back in november so i was really pleased to see them sprout up! i am a little worried the tulips are going to be eaten by deer, though. they already look a little worse for wear. :(
