Well, we wore our Halloween costumes I mentioned in my previous post to the all-day work party yesterday. We didn't win the Best Individual Costume Contest but our costumes were a big hit. Everyone was impressed and wanted to take our picture. And, our department did win the Best Overall Department Costumes Contest. So there's that. :)
As promised, here are a couple of pictures. I apologize for the poor quality. The costumes look much better in person.
Thanks again to Rachel, for the awesome tutorial!
Love 'em! Thanks for letting me see the final pics. For one of your first sewing jobs, this was QUITE a project and they turned out great. Hopefully you got some fun compliments at work.
It looks like you used batting. If so, good choice, I bet it was much more forgiving than stiff-ish foam.
Thanks again for taking the time to leave a comment and post a link. This made my day. :)
Ha. Glad I could make your day!
Yes, we did get some ooohhs and ahhhs and other fun compliments at work. It was pretty awesome. :) The paparazzi kept stopping us... haha.
We actually couldn't find foam so yeah, we ended up using batting. It worked out really well and was quite comfortable to sit in during the small amount of time I was actually at my desk.
Can't wait to see what you're making next!
Hi - I'm going to be Goomba in an upcoming skit that parents (actually just the Dad's) do as a fundraiser for my daughter's school - these adult sized costumes you made are great - do you still have them? Would you be willing to sell (or even rent) one to me? I can't seem to find a pre-made costume anywhere and I have zero ability to make my own! I know, kind of a crazy request, but it is for a good cause! Our website is http://dadsnight.dreamhosters.com/ so you can see it's a real thing and only partially crazy... Hope to hear from you. Thanks.
