This is the scarf that I've been talking about for the last several weeks in my Monday 5 Countdown posts, the one I knit for my mom:
I finally finished it earlier this week. I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. One of the things that drew me to this pattern was the fact that the resulting scarf is reversible (it looks like same on the front and back sides which isn't usually the case with cables).
I got the palindrome scarf pattern from cometosilver.com. The only modification I made was to add an extra cable pattern repeat (cast on 52 stitches instead of 40) to make the scarf a little wider.
I'll try to update this later in the week with a few more, better quality pics taken with my Canon camera instead of my cell phone camera.
Materials:
Yarn:
Brand: Patons Classic Wool
Color: Natural Mix
Amount: approximately 3 balls of yarn (100 g/223 yds each)
Needles:
Size US 8 needles
1 cable needle
Very cute. I learned how to knit recently and am still working on a very basic scarf. It's kinda mermaid tailed; as you go up the scarf, you can see how my knots have improved and are tighter.
Thanks. You should post a pic of your scarf!
