Resisting Temptation

| 4 Comments | No TrackBacks

This afternoon I resisted the temptation to go out to lunch with a bunch of co-workers to a Chinese restaurant.  I instead opted for a lunch of an apple, yogurt, and then later some pretzel rods and a diet coke.

I later resisted the temptation for a piece of cake at work during the monthly birthday celebration (incidentally, my b-day happens to be on Friday).  I ate only half a piece of cake instead.  :)

When I came home from work I resisted the temptation to lay on my super-comfortable couch and instead opted to go for a run.

After my run I resisted the temptation to eat 3 slices of leftover pizza.  I instead opted to eat 1 slice of pizza and a salad.

Now, I am resisting the temptation to have one of those hostess chocolate cupcakes that are oh-so-yummy.

So many choices.  So many temptations.  But I think today is a day I can feel good about.

Now that is willpower! Those temptations were coming at you all day long and you punched them square in the nose. Good for you, Erin. Now...what can I eat that's "healthy" for dinner...hmmmmm.

Oh, my god, are you a robot? I can see skipping the lunch out, the half-piece of cake, and even opting for a run. But when it comes to pizza, I have no willpower. My hat's off to you!

Great job! So far in the birthday week of all birthdays on the left coast we had cake, cookies, candy, cheesecake and more cupcakes this weekend. I do not plan to be as strong as you. I must give in to temptation because it's soooo yummy!

NatureCat: You had a very good description of my day. It felt exactly like the temptations were animate objects coming at me and I was just knocking them out one at a time. I hope you found something good to eat!

JD: Hahaha. A robot? Hardly! But thanks for making me laugh. Pizza is one of my 2 main weaknesses (chocolate being the other). Pretty much whenever my boyfriend asks me what I want for dinner, if I didn't have it the night before, I will almost always say pizza.

Christina: yum, yum, yum, eh, and yum! Lots of yummy C words. Rest assured, I will not be so good come Friday and Saturday. :)
